REQUIRED:

You must bring a copy of your pet’s SHOT RECORDS. On your shot record
it must include:

DHPP
LEPTO
RABIES (state law)
Bordetella (Kennel Cough) within 6 months. ORAL or INTRANASAL is
preferred over the injection.
CANINE INFLUENZA (recommended)

It’s important that you remember to supply us with your contact
information.
Bring your cell phone number and the numbers of anyone traveling with
you.
If you are staying in a hotel, the phone number of the hotel and the name
the reservation is under.
If you are staying somewhere else, please include all information about how to contact you.

A local emergency phone number. Someone who can come and get the
dog(s) in case of an emergency. You should tell your vet you are going out of town and that your dog is staying
with us, just so they know.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR PET FOR BOARDING?

Don’t forget to bring their food. We do not want to change his/her diet or they will
get sick. We like to try to keep everything the same as they had it at home.
So please, do not send any food or treats that your pet is not used to.

You may bring toys and treats if you wish. We can supply the treats if you
prefer.
You can bring bedding, clothes, or beloved toys (squeakers not preferred).

If you are bringing bedding please make sure to wash it a few days ahead
so it has his smell on it as well as his familiar house smells.

If you are not bringing their bedding, take an old sweatshirt or baby
blanket and sleep with it for a few nights, bring that with you and we can
put it on top of the blanket we put in the run.

Something that is very important is HOW you prepare them for their stay
with us. Pack up their stuff just like you would if you were going to just
carry it down to the laundry room. No big deal, nothing unusual, nothing
to worry about.
The day you put their stuff in the car, take it out to the car when your
pet is not in the house OR carry it out when you take them out to the car.
Tell them “YOU GET TO GO ON VACATION!!! IT’S GOING TO BE SO
MUCH FUN!!!”

They will believe they are coming to have a good time. Dogs feed off our
emotions, mannerisms, tone of voice and facial expressions. If you think
they will have a good time, They WILL HAVE A GOOD TIME!
